OTD: March 7th, 1974, Boscov’s department store, Americas largest family owned dept. store, was discounting their entire stock of CTI and Kudu albums. They ran this advert in the Reading Eagle that day. It would have been a great day to buy at 2020 $ values 🙂

I bought a few of these new in the UK, mostly from Hearsay Records, in my hometown of Hemel Hempstead, but at the time I was only earning about £27.50, and with albums at £3.99 which was approximately the US $5.59 retail price plus 75c import duty.  I could have maybe bought two at most.

These days I have at least one of all the CTI, KUDU, Salvation and many from the other Creed Taylor labels and imprints. I even have some duplicates for sale on discogs, some cheaper than these prices.

How many do you have?
