Didn’t We – a Stan Getz ringtone

Well we are all stuck at home, and things have all of a sudden become less urgent. It’s time for a less demanding ring-tone. I’ve done this a few times before on one of my other websites, used edits from music tracks as ringtones. When my wife calls, it’s Donna Summer, I’ll leave the track to your imagination, don’t be obvious.

This is the opening 20-seconds of Stan Getz Didn’t We track, taken from the album of the same name. Recorded in Los Angeles in 1969 and released later that year by Verve. It was produced by Johnny Pate. Getz had split with Taylor after recording the album Sweet Rain in 1967 and by ’69 Creed was moving on to A&M from Verve. The time in between ’67 and ’69 saw Getz complex and tortured personal life, and the consequences consuming most of his time in between live performances. If you have not read Stan’s autobiography, especially around this period, it’s well worth your time.

You can download the ring using the 3-dots menu on the right hand side, above or using this link and save-as.
